What is GridDuck?
GridDuck is a low-cost energy management system utilising wireless hardware, an online dashboard and an API. We offer consumption monitoring and analysis, remote control and automation. Utilising Internet of Things (IoT) technology, we are a wireless, cloud-based alternative to a traditional Building Energy Management System (BEMS).Certified for cybersecurity, the system enables data sharing with different organisations. An energy consultant installed a GridDuck wireless 16A relay in a petrol station to control a drinks fridge. By setting a time-switch to turn off the fridge between 10pm and 5am they managed to make a saving of 23% on the cost of running the fridge which taking into account the cost of the hardware and installation gives a payback of under 12 months.
